Rahil Nora Chopra : When six MLAs in Arunachal Pradesh quit the JD(U) and joined the BJP, Nitish Kumar had restructured the party and made Ram Chandra Prasad (RCP) Singh a National President of the party. He also resisted RLSP Chief Upendra Kushwaha’s attempts to return to the party as number two. Now even if Kushwaha rejoins JD(U), the hierarchy is clear and he will have to report to a new national president. According to JD(U) inner sources, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is annoyed with the way farm bills have been passed through a voice vote on September 20 in the Rajya Sabha and also not happy with Rajya Sabha deputy chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh’s refusal to conduct a division of votes and the subsequent chaos that followed while passing The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, and The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 on September 20. According to political observers Nitish is not happy the way BJP is treated him. He might thin of other options if BJP does not mend ways.
